The Montenegrin government will soon pass a new act on physical planning and construction, which should significantly shorten procedures for the obtaining of building permits, Montenegrin daily Vijesti reported. Building permits are currently one of the main obstacles to developers.
The new act will include everything that acts on planning and physical planning and urban development inspection have regulated so far. Many investors and land owners Montenegro have been prevented in construction of tourist, business and residental buildings due to long process for the obtaining of permits.
The problem is especially dignificant in the tourism sector, where reconstruction and building of hotels is running late. An investor has to go through as many as seven administrative procedures which can take at least a few months, but usually more than one year.
