Since December 1st last year Montenegro has begun accepting ATA Carnets, waiving duties and taxes on a variety of goods entering the country temporarily. This will enable exhibitors coming to the Adriatic Fair to organise their presentations much easier.
“ATA Carnets allow goods to clear customs without customs paperwork, payments of duties, taxes and deposits, on the territory of the country which agreed to comply with the Convention on Temporary Admission,” the Adriatic Fair informed.
The company added that exhibitors would be able to save both time and money, and predict that number of foreign exhibitors will significantly rise.
ATA Carnet can be issued exclusively by the Chambers of Commerce, the members of the international ATA guaranty chain.
Montenegro is the 66th member of the ATA Carnet system and will accept carnets for all three categories of goods:
Exhibitions and Fairs
Professional Equipment
Commercial Samples
All Montenegrin Customs offices are authorized to handle ATA Carnets during hours of operation.
