Montenegrin capital Podgorica has been picked as one of European secret cities which are worth a visit.
SkyScanner selected ten most undiscovered European capitals that feel much further from home than they really are. The list was based on number of flight searches from the UK on www.Skyscanner.net during summer 2008.
The flight search engine states that some travel experts have lauded Montenegro as a future travel hotspot despite it being largely unknown to British travellers. According to the source “the spectacular Dajbabe monastery is a must and the seaside resorts of the Adriatic are not far away. Montenegro also boasts the second deepest canyon in the World, as well as the spectacular and spiky Durmitor mountain range where it’s possible to ski during winter.”
Other cities featured on the list include Bern, Sarajevo, Skopje, Chisinau, Luxembourg, Minsk, Belgrade, Ljubljana and Moscow.
