Kolasin is a small town in the north situated on the bank of river Tara and surrounded by mountains Bjelasica, Sinjavina and Komovi. It is an ideal base for a holiday, a heaven for adventure seekers and nature lovers during both summer and winter months.
The main attraction is National Park “Biogradska Gora” on Bjelasica mountain. In the heart of this vast area of untouched primeval forest and stunning scenery is Biogradsko Lake, one of five glacial lakes in the park. The lake is encircled by a hiking path 3.5 kilometres long and there are boats for rent to enjoy tranquil ambiance.
One of the local attractions is Moraca Monastery built in 13th century and painted with frescoes that represent some of the finest examples of medieval art.
Nearby (about 8km away) is a very popular ski centre Jezerine, the second biggest Montenegrin ski resort after Durmitor. The centre is ideal for recreational skiing and family fun with pistes for beginners and experienced skiers, ski lifts and funicular railway.
