The coastal town of Bar is located in the south-eastern part of Montenegro. It is a modern town with most of the buildings constructed in the last few decades.

Bar is a popular tourist spot with fairly good tourist facilities including a marina. There are nice pebble beaches backed by lush vegetation around the town and for those who prefer sandy beaches a small town of Sutomore is nearby.

The Old Town of Bar, situated about 5 km from the coast at the foot of Rumija mountain, is worth seeing as it represents one of the most important archaeological sites from medieval times.

Bar has good transport links to other parts of the country, rail link to Belgrade and international ferries to Bari and Ancona.
